The coffee is bright juicy, with a syrupy body.
Hints of sugar cane are followed by aromatic hints of Earl Grey, floral fruits, vibrant flavors of green grape, orange, and cranberry. City to Full City.
The sweetness is so potent in the wet aromatics, and along with tropical fruit hints, brought out a profile of pineapple upside-down cake. Running my spoon through the wet coffee crust at the top of my cup released brighter, more delicate citrus notes that smelled amazing. The cup is bright and juicy, with fruits that hit on floral aspects, and syrupy body to boot. Cupping a City roast, the sweetness showed hints of minimally processed sugars, and the fruits came up right behind them. The hot coffee is brisk, and bright, and while vibrant citrus and tea are what came to mind, it wasn't until the coffee cooled off a little that I started to get a clearer picture of flavors. The cup was very aromatic, with hints of Earl Grey and floral stone fruits adding to that effect. Bright flavors of green grape, orange, and cranberry were also such a delicious part of the flavor profile. While I prefered City roasts, Igutha produces quite an enjoyable cup at Full City too. I wouldn't call it "bittersweet", though the roast tones were certainly there. It's the fruits that I was focused on, dark, and juicy grapes, black plum, still bringing some vibrance to the brew.
